Flood warning issued on Da River through Ba Vi and Son Tay

The Hanoi City Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control said that the water level of the Da River in Hanoi (Trung Ha hydrological station) at 10:20 a.m. on September 11 was 15.06 m (alarm level 1 is 15 m). Therefore, the Steering Committee issued an alarm level I on the Da River at 10:20 a.m. on September 11 in Ba Vi district.

The Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control of Ba Vi district and units in the district strictly implement regulations when there is an alarm order I.

In addition, the water level of the Red River at Son Tay Hydrological Station at 10:35 a.m. on September 11 was 13.4 m (alarm level 2 is 13.4 m).

The Hanoi City Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control issued Alert Level II on the Red River at 1:35 a.m. on September 11 in Son Tay town and Ba Vi, Phuc Tho, Dan Phuong, and Me Linh districts.

The Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Son Tay, Ba Vi, Phuc Tho, Dan Phuong, Me Linh towns and agencies and units in the above areas strictly comply with regulations when there is an alarm.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, last night and early this morning (September 11), floods on the Lo River, Cau River, Thuong River, Thai Binh River, Red River, and Hoang Long River are still rising, with many rivers exceeding alert level 3.

Floods on the Thao River in Yen Bai and the Luc Nam River in Bac Giang are showing signs of decreasing but are still at very high levels, with the Thao River remaining above alert level 3 and above the historical flood level of 1968.

The Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting especially warns that water levels at downstream stations of the Red River-Thai Binh River system will rise to alert level 3 and above alert level 3 today and tonight, causing deep flooding in low-lying areas along rivers and alluvial areas outside the main dike in Hanoi, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Thai Binh, and Ninh Binh.

In addition, high floods can cause riverbank dykes to overflow, landslides to seriously affect key locations in the dyke system, embankments, and riverside works in the above provinces, and at the same time affect waterway traffic, aquaculture, agricultural production and socio-economic activities.
