The competition focuses on promptly preventing fishing vessels and fishermen from violating foreign waters, contributing to the implementation of the Government 's determination with ministries, branches and localities, with the theme "Promoting the spirit of responsibility, solidarity, coordination, resolutely fighting and preventing IUU fishing violations". The competition period is from August 12, 2025 to September 2, 2025.

Senior Lieutenant General Thai Dai Ngoc requested localities to review and handle fishing vessels that have seriously violated regulations and been captured by the military forces, and hand them over, to be completed before August 30, 2025; coordinate in disseminating the law, and enhance deterrence. Put "3 no" vessels, vessels operating illegally and not returning to the locality for a long time under strict management, and not allow them to operate, to be completed before August 20, 2025. At the same time, prioritize human resources, funding, and equipment for functional forces; strictly handle organizations and individuals who condone and assist in IUU fishing.
Military units closely coordinate with the government and functional forces to propagate and disseminate the 2017 Fisheries Law and related documents so that fishermen strictly comply with regulations. Enhance information exchange between naval forces, border guards, coast guard, coastal military regions and 21 coastal provinces and cities; coordinate investigation, situation assessment, and verification of suspects to prevent violations.

This is an opportunity, potential and advantage in developing the marine economy, especially in the fisheries sector, but also a challenge in managing and controlling fishing activities, especially illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing activities.
The People's Committee of An Giang province commits with the highest sense of responsibility that the province actively works with the Ministry of National Defense's Steering Committee on combating IUU fishing, central ministries, branches and People's Committees of coastal provinces and cities to synchronously and effectively deploy the peak emulation campaign against IUU fishing in the whole country in general and in An Giang province in particular; determined to join hands and overcome shortcomings and limitations, to soon remove the EC's "yellow card" warning with the whole country.
