Fined 180 million VND for company producing fake laundry detergent and dishwashing liquid of famous brands

Authorities inspect at HV Investment, Trade and Service Company Limited

The Department of Industry and Trade of Hung Yen province coordinated with the provincial Market Management force to conduct an inspection and discovered a case of mass production of counterfeit cleaning products of famous brands such as D-nee, Hygiene and Tauau at HV Investment, Trade and Service Company Limited, located in An Thi and Yen My districts, Hung Yen province.

Accordingly, on May 19, 2025, the Investigation Police Agency of Hung Yen Provincial Police issued a document transferring all documents and exhibits related to HV Company to the Market Management Department of Hung Yen Province for handling according to regulations. On this basis, the Mobile Market Management Team promptly received and organized verification to clarify the violation, collect documents and evidence to serve the administrative handling work.

Through investigation, the authorities determined that Mr. LNT - Director of HV Company organized the mass production of cleaning products with famous brands such as D-nee, Hygiene and Tauau but they were not genuine. To legalize the fake products, Mr. T. bought real product samples to study the ingredients, designs, labels and then mixed them with chemicals and fragrances in his own workshop. The packaging, bags, cartons and labels were all printed exactly like the real ones to deceive consumers.

The amount of evidence seized at the scene was very large, including hundreds of cans of dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent, fabric softener, and thousands of packages and fake labels of the D-nee and Tauau brands. All of these goods were packaged, affixed with fake stamps, printed with foreign information, and barcodes similar to genuine goods on the market.

After completing the verification, on June 19, 2025, the People's Committee of Hung Yen province officially issued a Decision to administratively fine HV Company VND 180 million for the act of producing counterfeit goods labels and packaging. At the same time, all exhibits must be destroyed.

Chemicals used in the preparation and counterfeiting process

Previously, on May 17, 2024, Team 3 - Economic Police Department of Hung Yen Provincial Police coordinated with Market Management Team No. 5 (now Mobile Market Management Team) to suddenly inspect the production warehouse and storage warehouse of HV Company. Here, the authorities discovered that the company was organizing the production of counterfeit goods on a large scale, including laundry detergent, fabric softener, dishwashing liquid with the brands D-nee, Hygiene and Tauau. A series of machines, chemicals, labels, packaging for the decanting, mixing, and packaging processes were all sealed and temporarily seized.

Based on the initial investigation results, the case showed signs of criminality, the case file and all evidence were transferred to the Investigation Police Agency of Hung Yen Provincial Police. On September 24, 2024, the investigation agency issued a decision to prosecute the criminal case for the act of "Production of counterfeit goods" under Clause 3, Article 192 of the Penal Code, and at the same time prosecuted the accused against Mr. LNT - Director of HV Company and Mr. NVL (born in 1993, residing in Hai Duong province), applying preventive measures: prohibiting leaving the place of residence.

However, due to the lack of sufficient grounds for criminal prosecution, on May 19, 2025, the Investigation Police Agency issued a document requesting the Market Management Department of Hung Yen province to accept the case and handle it as an administrative violation. The decision to impose a fine of VND 180 million and destroy all exhibits is the next step in the process of handling the case strictly and in accordance with regulations.
