The school has the highest percentage of staff with PhD and bachelor's degrees in English.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Major General - Professor - Doctor Tran Thanh Hung, Principal of the People's Police University, said that the school has excellently completed the targets and tasks of the 2022-2023 school year.

In particular, the work of building forces and developing the staff and lecturers has achieved encouraging results. With the view that taking care of building a team of teachers and educational managers is the key step, directly deciding the quality of education and training, the school has created the most favorable conditions for each staff and lecturer to study to improve their qualifications and strive for teaching positions.

Up to now, the school has 6.04% of staff with the title of professor, associate professor, 24.6% of staff with doctoral degree, 56.9% of staff with master's degree and 29.1% of staff with bachelor's degree in foreign languages; 33.33% of staff are lecturers, senior experts; 40.27% of staff are lecturers, senior experts.

"The People's Police University is one of the public security schools with the highest percentage of staff with doctoral and bachelor's degrees in English. This is the core force, both red and specialized, so that the school can confidently complete all tasks assigned by the Party, the State and the public security sector," Mr. Hung shared.

Mr. Hung also said that the school has organized teaching and training at all levels and systems according to the targets, programs and plans. Specifically, the school organized 2,523 classes, nearly 14,000 students at doctoral, master's and bachelor's levels with more than 187,000 teaching hours, exceeding 277% of the standard hours of the school year.

At the same time, the school organized legal, political and professional training for more than 3,800 police officers and soldiers from units and localities; 761 officers and investigators at all levels; and 175 leaders of the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

In the new school year 2023-2024, the People's Police University focuses on 6 key tasks. These include making strong progress in the quality of education and training; continuing to promote scientific research activities, linking scientific research with education and training, ensuring that scientific products must be effectively applied in practice.

Addressing the students, the Principal of the People's Police University said: "Society is constantly moving and developing; the targets of the police force's struggle are constantly changing their methods and tactics to deal with them. Your comrades and teammates are enthusiastically carrying out their duties day and night; your parents and relatives are working hard day and night to create favorable conditions for you to study."

Therefore, he noted: "Your most important task is to study and practice. Your study is not only for yourself but also for all those who see you on the front line of fighting crime, as well as in production work."

"You will be at fault if you do not study well and do not train well. I want to tell you that your family and friends are proud of you; the organization trusts and expects you. Therefore, you need to correctly identify your motivation and learning tasks, improve your knowledge, practice your skills, have good health, and have a good sense of discipline to become regular, elite, modern officers, ready to receive and complete all tasks excellently," Mr. Hung added.

To each teacher, manager, and service staff, the Principal of the People's Police University expressed his wish: "Continuously strive to improve yourself in all aspects, become a shining example, and guide students in lifestyle, ethics, and ways to acquire and apply knowledge into practice."
