Many places in the South and Central regions have heavy rain.

Since early this afternoon (August 7), thunderstorms have formed and developed strongly along the strip from the Central Central region to the Central Highlands (Central Highlands).

In the western region of Quang Ngai province, thunderstorms broke out with high density, some communes had moderate to heavy rain. Thunderstorms are forecast to continue to expand to the East (coastal).

In the western central region of Gia Lai, Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa provinces, thunderstorms have lasted for many hours and tend to expand, concentrated in mountainous areas. Lam Dong province is also warned to have thunderstorms almost over a large area from this evening.

In the South, this afternoon, thunderstorms also appeared, mainly concentrated in the Mekong Delta such as Vinh Long and Can Tho .

This afternoon, August 7, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warned that this afternoon and evening, the Southern region and the Central Highlands will continue to have showers, with some places experiencing heavy rain of over 70mm. Thunderstorms may be accompanied by lightning, strong gusts of wind and the risk of flooding in low-lying areas.

According to data from the Vrain automatic rain gauge system, today, August 7, some localities from the Central to the South recorded quite significant rainfall. In Da Nang, heavy rain was 58.6mm, while Quang Ngai had rainfall of 57.8mm.

In the Central Highlands, Dak Lak had heavy rain of 81.8mm, while Lam Dong had moderate rain of 48mm. Further south, rainfall tended to decrease but moderate rain was still recorded in many places such as Ca Mau (44.4mm), Can Tho (50mm) and Vinh Long (37.8mm).
