This is the first time the Hot Air Balloon Festival has been held in Dak Lak province.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Chairman of the People's Committee of Buon Don district Pham Trung Nghia said that Buon Don is a land rich in historical and cultural traditions and is a long-standing home to the community of ethnic groups.

Buon Don is also known as the cradle of hunting and taming wild elephants, with vast primeval forests, poetic rivers and rich cultural identity.

The Hot Air Balloon Festival is a special cultural, sports and tourism event held for the first time in the district. Dak Lak Hot Air Balloon Festival 2025 - Flying over the great forest took place from May 1 to 3, but on the first day it attracted a large number of people and tourists to come and have fun and experience.

Having just experienced the flight from the hot air balloon back to the ground, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hieu in village 7, Tan Hoa commune, Buon Don district said: "This is the first time in my life I have experienced a hot air balloon. At first I felt worried, but after experiencing it, I felt safe and excited. Standing in the hot air balloon at a height of 50m, swaying, observing all the villages of the M'nong and Lao people and the vast primeval forests of Yok Don National Park, I found it very interesting. Hopefully, activities like this will continue to be organized by the provincial government and tourism sector to diversify tourism products, serving the increasing needs of local people and tourists."
