The race "Journey in Uncle Ho's footsteps - For the security of the Fatherland" is jointly organized by the Vietnam People's Public Security Sports Association, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee and VnExpress Newspaper. It is a large-scale sports activity within the framework of the Sen Village Festival in 2025 to celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025) and towards the 80th anniversary of the founding of the People's Public Security force (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025).

This is the first large-scale grassroots running tournament co-organized by the Vietnam People's Public Security Sports Association and is a sports activity with profound political and social significance, marking an important step in bringing the People's Public Security sports activities closer to the community.

The race not only aims to encourage and improve health but also spread the noble values ​​of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; further strengthen the relationship between the police force and the people, thereby promoting patriotism, responsibility for national security and developing the mass sports movement.

“Journey following Uncle Ho’s footsteps – For the security of the Fatherland” opened on the morning of May 4 at Ho Chi Minh Square, Vinh City, Nghe An with the participation of more than 3,000 athletes from many provinces and cities across the country. Athletes competed in 3 distances: 5 km, 10 km and 21 km, starting and finishing at Ho Chi Minh Square, running through major streets such as: Truong Thi, Lenin and Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard.

According to the plan, athletes will receive racekits and visit the exhibition and culinary area at Ho Chi Minh Square on May 3. The official competition will take place from 4:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on May 4. The award ceremony will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the same day.
