On the morning of May 1, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City announced that Ho Chi Minh City will not display 10,500 drones (unmanned aerial vehicles) on the evening of May 1.

The official drone demonstration was changed from the evening of May 1 to the evening of April 30. However, due to interference, the demonstration of 10,500 drones had to be temporarily suspended. The Organizing Committee later announced that the cause was widespread interference, which could have caused unsafe flight conditions. To ensure safety, the organizing unit decided to stop the flight and retrieve the drones.

10,500 drones recreate the image of Uncle Ho as well as the city's development journey in the sky above the Saigon River.

Previously, on the evening of April 28, Ho Chi Minh City organized a rehearsal for a light show using 10,500 drones on the Saigon River bank, both sides of the river in Thu Duc City and District 1.

The event received enthusiastic response from many people and tourists. The performance created vivid images, recreating important historical moments of the nation, such as the image of a tank crashing into the gate of the Independence Palace, the symbol of Uncle Ho, Vietnam - The Era of Rising Up associated with the symbol of the bronze drum and the Lac bird.

In addition, symbols such as Dong Son bronze drum, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Building, Metro Line 1, Ben Thanh Market, Bitexco Financial Tower... appearing in the night sky also excited people.

This is the largest drone display ever in Ho Chi Minh City.
