VFF said that during the physical test, a referee showed abnormal health symptoms and had to stop the test to receive emergency care and be taken to the hospital.

Representatives of VFF, VPF and the Referee Board were present at the hospital after the incident. Currently, the medical department and related departments continue to be present at the hospital to closely monitor developments and coordinate with the medical facility in treating this referee.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , a V-League referee said: "Right now he is still in the recovery room and waiting for doctors to check his parameters."

It is known that this referee is currently receiving intensive treatment at Bach Mai Hospital ( Hanoi ).

The referee fitness test is part of the VFF and VPF's preparatory training plan ahead of the 2025-2026 season. To be eligible for the fitness test, referees attending the training session must ensure that they have health examination documents as prescribed in Circular 32/2023/TT-BYT.

Of the 62 referees and assistant referees who participated in the physical fitness test, 55 passed the tests, reaching a rate of 88.7%. Completing the physical fitness test is a prerequisite for referees to be considered for assignment to work in the 2025-2026 Vietnamese professional football season.

After the physical test this morning, the referees continued their training program with the content of disseminating the Regulations of the national professional football tournaments for the 2025-2026 season. In the afternoon of the same day, the referees entered the theoretical test related to VAR technology - a key tool that will continue to be widely applied in the V-League this season.

In addition, referees also participated in analyzing and drawing experience from typical situations in the previous season, thereby consolidating knowledge and improving practical handling skills on the field.

Tuoi Tre Online will continue to update readers on the referee's health in the following news.
