This afternoon, March 19, the official Facebook page of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade posted information about "Lunar New Year Holiday Schedule 2026", attracting great attention from students.
Just 30 minutes after posting, the post attracted nearly a thousand likes, hundreds of comments and shares.
Commenting under this article, hundreds of students expressed surprise at this news: "I admit that the school really wants to take a break"; "School, I mean, we haven't had summer break yet, we haven't had a break for Western New Year, but now it's Lunar New Year?"; "The school is even more excited than me, preparing to take another break"...

There are also some comments wondering: "Do lecturers want to quit because the school is in such a hurry?"; "That's it, but the graduation schedule is still unknown"... "Why is this school so strange? There are still more than 10 months, why are they living in such a hurry?"...
In fact, the school announced the principal's decision on issuing the training schedule for the 2025-2026 school year.
The school announces the detailed schedule for the next academic year 2025-2026 for all training systems, levels (PhD, Master's, full-time university), and training courses of the school. Accordingly, the first day of the new school year is August 18. Semester 1 will end, students will complete exams in the second week of 2026.
The school also announced the Lunar New Year holiday schedule for 4 weeks, from February 9, 2026 to March 8, 2026 (December 22 to January 21).
Semester 2 will start from the 2nd week of March 2026 and end in the 1st week of July 2026. This will be followed by the summer semester (summer break), ending in the 2nd week of August 2026.
Near holidays and Tet holidays, the school will continue to issue detailed notices.
Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , MSc. Pham Thai Son - Director of the Admissions and Communications Center of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade - said: "Every year, the school announces the training plan so that students, staff and lecturers know clearly. According to the schedule, students will start registering for courses in May 2025. So the time for the school to announce the above information is not too early.
In this plan, the school officially announces the Tet holiday time so that students can proactively arrange their study schedule and travel home...".
According to Mr. Son, this is the general training schedule of the school. As the holidays and Tet holidays approach, the school will continue to issue more detailed and specific announcements so that students and employees can understand clearly.
