On the afternoon of August 9 (Vietnam time), Benjamin Sesko signed a contract with Man Utd until June 2030. To complete this deal, the Red Devils had to spend up to 74 million pounds (85 million euros). Of which, they paid 75 million euros in advance and paid the remaining 10 million euros based on performance.

Despite Newcastle's offer of a lucrative deal and higher wages, Sesko has remained steadfast in his decision to move to Old Trafford. The Slovenian will earn £160,000 a week at Old Trafford, which will rise to £200,000 a week if the club qualify for the Champions League.
Speaking on his Man Utd debut, Sesko said: “Man Utd’s history is special, but what excites me most is the future with the club. When I heard about the team’s plans, I saw this as the ideal place for me to develop and aim for big titles. As soon as I arrived here, I felt the positive energy and family atmosphere. This is the environment for me to reach the peak of my career.”
Man Utd director of football Jason Wilcox also expressed his expectations for the club's new contract: "Sesko possesses incredible speed and strong physique. He is a rare type of striker at his age. We believe that under the guidance of coach Amorim, he will develop his potential and become one of the world's leading strikers."

Before saying goodbye to Leipzig, Sesko sent a message of gratitude: “I came here as a boy and leave with wonderful memories. From the first day, you welcomed me like family. I will always remember your support and affection.”
With the signing of Sesko, Man Utd has increased their total investment in the summer transfer window to more than 200 million pounds. Previously, the club spent 62.5 million pounds to buy Matheus Cunha from Wolves and 71 million pounds to recruit Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. Notably, these additions are all focused on the attack.
Sesko's arrival is expected to bring a breath of fresh air to the Red Devils' attack. The 22-year-old striker is considered one of the most promising young strikers in Europe. Since joining Leipzig from Salzburg in 2023, he has scored 39 goals and provided 8 assists in 87 appearances. Last season alone, Sesko scored 21 goals in all competitions for the German club.
