In recent days, 71 households in Minh Chau village, Chau Hanh commune, Quy Chau district have been isolated because the entire road bordering Minh Chau village and Minh Tien village was washed away, about 20 meters long. The road broke in half, creating a large abyss about 7-8 meters deep. If the people of Minh Chau village want to pass through this section of road, they have to risk wading down the abyss and then climbing back up, which is very dangerous.

Faced with the above situation, on September 29 and 30, Chau Hanh commune mobilized people and forces to urgently build a new road for Minh Chau villagers to travel.

Mr. Vi The Long - Chairman of Chau Hanh Commune People's Committee said: We have surveyed to open a new road, connecting Minh Chau village to Minh Tien village with a length of nearly 100 meters, a width of about 2 meters, enough for motorbikes to travel. This route is located at a fairly high position, divided by streams so machines cannot support the road opening, mainly using human power to open the road.

Immediately after the road opening was launched, over 100 people, along with militia and commune police forces, participated. First, they had to clear away acacia trees and bushes, then use hoes and shovels to dig soil and rocks to open the road.
Being present at the scene at this time, I saw the atmosphere of road construction was very exciting, people were digging soil, people were carrying rocks to join the road across Hung stream.

Ms. Lang Thi Minh in Minh Chau village is digging the ground to open the road and shares: Everyone is actively working on the road, hoping to open a new road soon so that their children can go to school and people can travel conveniently. In the long term, all levels and sectors need to pay attention and support to fix the broken road so that people can soon stabilize their lives.
Although the commune mobilized at least one household with one person to participate in the road opening, there were families in Minh Chau and Minh Tien villages whose entire family participated in the construction of the new road. Therefore, the road construction progress was fast, in just the past 2 days, the newly opened road has completed over 70% of the volume. Currently, people and forces are focusing on completion, such as using bamboo and meters to build embankments to prevent landslides, and completing the stone construction over 10 meters across Hung stream in Minh Chau village.

Mr. Vi The Long - Chairman of Chau Hanh Commune People's Committee added: According to the plan, by October 1, the newly opened road from Minh Chau village to Minh Tien village will be completed and put into use, the people of Minh Chau village will escape isolation. As for the road to Minh Chau village which is severely damaged, due to limited funds, Chau Hanh Commune has reported to Quy Chau District People's Committee to request a solution.
