Vietlott's profit increased sharply, paying out nearly 2,500 billion VND in prizes in the first half of 2025

The financial report for the first 6 months of 2025 of Vietnam Computerized Lottery Company (Vietlott) recorded revenue from lottery reaching 4,565 billion VND, an increase of more than 12% over the same period in 2024. The company spent nearly 2,500 billion VND to pay prizes to winning players.

Not only increasing revenue, Vietlott also has significant income from financial activities. As of the end of June 2025, the company deposited more than 1,900 billion VND in banks, bringing in 29 billion VND in interest - an increase of 6% over the same period last year.

During the same period, Vietlott spent VND425 billion in commissions for ticket agents and nearly VND300 billion on lottery business expenses.

After deducting all expenses, Vietlott achieved pre-tax profit of more than VND 244.4 billion, nearly 16% higher than the first half of 2024.

Recently, Vietlott attracted public attention with a Mega 6/45 Jackpot prize worth more than 39 billion VND awarded in early June to Mr. NXH ( Hanoi ), who was announced to be in the U80 age group. However, the photo of him covering his face to receive the prize released by Vietlott has sparked controversy, as many opinions said that the face and style of the person in the photo looks younger than his age.

In response to the suspicion, Vietlott Chairman Nguyen Thanh Dam confirmed that Mr. NXH is actually in the 70-79 age group. “Compared to many people of the same age, he has a very youthful style. When he came to receive the prize, he wore jeans and a T-shirt. This may make some people doubt his identity,” Mr. Dam explained.
