Previously, on February 16, Long Bien Ward Police received a report from Ms. NAT (born in 1996, residing in Tay Ho District, Hanoi) about her adopted child, NDC (born on September 20, 2024), who died while being cared for at Lane 61/83 Tram Street, Group 14, Long Bien Ward. Immediately after receiving the information, Long Bien District Police urgently coordinated with relevant units to investigate and clarify the incident.

Initially, the police determined that due to being busy with work, at around 5:15 p.m. on February 2, Ms. T. sent her child C. to Ms. NTN's house (born in 1991, residing in Group 14, Long Bien Ward) to look after her for 250,000 VND/day and night. At 11:00 a.m. on February 16, Ms. N. informed Ms. T. that her child C. was being treated at Tam Anh Hospital (Hanoi City). When Ms. T. arrived at the hospital, the doctor announced that her child C. had died.

In the initial investigation with the police, Ms. N. confessed that at around 10 p.m. on February 15, she took C. to the bedroom on the third floor and slept with him. At 7 a.m. on February 16, Ms. N. woke up and saw that C. was sleeping, so she went down to the first floor, leaving him alone. When she went down, Ms. N. placed a teddy bear next to C. and another teddy bear under her feet to prevent her from falling.

At around 10 o'clock that same day, Ms. N. came up and found the child lying face down on a pillow, with a teddy bear about 1 meter long pressing on his body and head. Seeing the child's face was purple and his breathing was weak, Ms. N. gave him CPR but there was no improvement, so she called an ambulance to take him to the hospital.

The police have conducted an autopsy on the victim's body and found no injuries caused by external force. As for the cause of C.'s death, the authorities are conducting an examination to determine the cause.
