Loạt ô tô bán chạy nhất tháng 8: Ranger giữ phong độ, Xforce bứt phá - 1

Despite recording growth in consumption in July, the Vietnamese automobile market entered a "holding breath" period in August. This coincided with the seventh lunar month - the annual low season, and at the same time, there was information that the Government agreed to reduce 50% of registration fees for domestic cars.

The downward trend of the market is clearly shown in the list of 10 most "popular" cars. Up to 8 products recorded a decrease in consumption, in which the last model sold only 613 units but was still enough to "make the top".

The best-selling car is the Mitsubishi Xforce, with sales growing by 43% compared to July. This position originally belonged to the VinFast VF 5 Plus, but sales of this electric car model decreased by about 400 units in August.

In contrast to Xforce, another key product of Mitsubishi Vietnam, Xpander, dropped to 6th place. Sales of this model reached 1,003 units, down nearly 33% but still the best-selling in the MPV segment.

Notably, when considering cumulative sales in the first 7 months of 2024, Ford Ranger surpassed Mitsubishi Xpander with a total of 10,293 vehicles sold. The cumulative sales result of the Xpander model is 10,268 units.

Aside from the Xforce, the only model on the list that saw an increase in sales was the Mazda CX-5. Compared to July, it sold only 26 more units, but that was still enough to improve its ranking, given the overall decline.

The remaining names are mostly quite familiar. Among them, Ford Ranger, Everest and Toyota Vios continue to be the best-selling in the competitive segment (pickup, D-SUV and B-class sedan).

Toyota Veloz Cross is the only name to disappear from the list of best-selling cars in August. Instead, it is Hyundai Creta, which is at the bottom of the list.

Vietnamese customers' tastes remain unchanged, still focusing on high-chassis cars with only 2 sedan models. Japanese cars continue to be popular with the majority with 5 products present, followed by American cars with 2 names, Korean cars and Vietnamese cars each have 1 representative.

The "balance" of assembled cars and imported cars remains unchanged, the corresponding number of cars is still 6 and 4.
