Mr. Shawki Bou Nassar stated his readiness to intensify diplomatic efforts and contacts with all interested parties and influential actors in the Middle East and the world, including the United Nations and other international organizations. “For its part, Moscow stated that the Russian authorities have issued a call to support a peaceful solution to the current conflict,” Mr. Shawqi Bu Nassar, Ambassador of Lebanon to Russia, stated.
Mr. Nassar also hopes that Russia will continue to provide humanitarian aid to Lebanon, as the conflict with Israel is not going to end soon. “It seems that this conflict could be prolonged. This will lead to more displacement of the population and therefore a greater need for humanitarian assistance from Russia and other friendly countries,” the Lebanese diplomat admitted.

Israel attacks Beirut, Hezbollah says it stopped IDF
On October 3, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) first struck the center of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. “The explosion was very strong – it was on the street next to me, in Bashura. It’s a five-minute walk to the parliament. The rocket hit the house directly,” said a witness at the scene.
On the same day, Hezbollah fighters announced that they had stopped an IDF incursion into Lebanese territory with artillery support. A day earlier, Hezbollah announced that it had clashed with Israeli soldiers for the first time in southern Lebanon near the village of Odise. Hezbollah said that after a brief exchange of fire, IDF units withdrew.

On the night of October 1, the IDF breached the border with Lebanon in several areas. Israeli forces, supported by tanks, overran settlements in southern Lebanon. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asserted that he was only carrying out “limited operations” to protect his people in the north.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese army did not take any action to stop the IDF and even withdrew from some positions in the south near the border with Israel. It should be emphasized that all military operations against Israel from Lebanese territory in the past year were carried out by the Hezbollah movement.
