Deepen the content of cooperation in the coming time

At the meeting with Singaporean Parliament Speaker Seah Kian Peng, on behalf of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man thanked the Singaporean Government and people for their timely support and sharing in overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3 (Yagi); and was pleased to see that the relationship between the two countries has achieved many practical results in recent times.

Believing that the potential and room for cooperation between the two countries are still very large, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man proposed strengthening the cooperative relationship in the spirit of "what is good must be even better", bringing the relationship between the two countries to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the coming time. The two sides should increase the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level parliamentary delegations, young parliamentarians' groups, and female parliamentarians' groups; continue to promote coordination mechanisms at multilateral parliamentary forums such as IPU, AIPA, APPF, etc.; and support each other's stance on regional and international issues.

On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man invited Singaporean National Assembly Chairman Seah Kian Peng to visit Vietnam at an appropriate time.

At the meeting with President of the Thai National Assembly Wan Muhamad Noor Matha, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man was pleased to see that the relationship between the two countries' legislative bodies has been continuously strengthened and developed well. The two sides have signed a Cooperation Agreement between the two National Assemblies for the 2023-2028 period and have many solutions to promote and deepen the contents of cooperation in the coming time. With the goal of bringing the Vietnam-Thailand relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, in the spirit of the cooperation agreement between the two National Assemblies signed in December 2023, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man suggested that the two sides continue to increase the exchange of high-level delegations and all levels, and groups of parliamentarians to exchange experiences between the two legislative bodies.

The two National Assembly leaders emphasized that both sides need to support ASEAN's common stance on the East Sea issue, ensuring peace, stability, security, safety, freedom of navigation and aviation in the region on the basis of international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

On the same afternoon, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with the Chairman of the Belarusian House of Representatives.

On the evening of October 19, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man left the capital Vientiane, successfully concluding his official visit to Laos and attending the 45th AIPA General Assembly.
