During the 5-day holiday, 3 high-speed boats operated continuously, making a total of 27 closed trips, transporting 13,180 passengers. Of these, 6,031 were tourists from Phan Thiet to Phu Quy, including 90 international visitors. On average, the number of import and export passengers per day reached about 2,636.
Despite favorable weather and stable services, the number of visitors to Phu Quy Island during the holiday this year decreased compared to the same period last year. Specifically, Phu Quy Island welcomed 6,031 tourists, 1,631 fewer than in 2024, equivalent to a decrease of 21.3%. The reason is that the number of high-speed boats operating this year decreased by 2 compared to the same period last year. In addition, the tide at Phan Thiet port is low, so large-capacity boats cannot go.
To serve the holiday well, Phu Quy Port Management Board has developed a plan to ensure traffic safety, deployed a ship schedule and coordinated with the Border Guard Station to strengthen inspection and control of the Phan Thiet - Phu Quy route. Port leaders regularly monitor and mobilize forces to maintain order at the wharf when ships depart and arrive at the port. In addition, transport businesses strictly implement the task of keeping ticket prices stable and not increasing ticket prices during the holiday. In general, the coordination between related units is implemented synchronously, contributing to ensuring safety and convenience for people and tourists entering and leaving the island.
