One of the opinions at the workshop of Mr. Do Phu Tran Tinh - Institute for Policy Development, Ho Chi Minh National University emphasized that science and technology, digital transformation are the driving force for developing strategic products in the economic pillars of Binh Thuan. According to Mr. Tinh, Binh Thuan is a place where both natural potential and development challenges converge. Thoroughly grasping and concretizing the spirit of Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on developing science and technology, innovation and digital transformation is the only way to overcome the current bottleneck.

To effectively implement Resolution No. 57, it is impossible to implement it in a scattered manner but requires a focused, focused and key development strategy, targeting the province's key products. The province must clearly identify the fields and industries with strong development potential, in line with its competitive advantages. At the same time, it must carefully analyze the influencing factors such as natural conditions, infrastructure and human resources. Based on these analyses, the province will develop scientific and technological research to apply to the local key products to optimize the production process, improve product quality, upgrade the value chain, minimize processing losses and enhance competitiveness in the international market.

Economic development potential

Mr. Do Phu Tran Tinh further emphasized that Binh Thuan has clearly affirmed its potential and outstanding advantages thanks to its strategic geographical location, unique natural conditions and development orientation in line with modern trends. Therefore, it is proposed that the province consider some strategic products and strategic technologies such as a logistics center for renewable energy in the South Central Coast and Central Highlands.

In addition, developing fisheries logistics services in Binh Thuan aims to improve the value chain and income for fishermen, contributing to protecting aquatic resources and sovereignty over seas and islands. In the field of cultivation, the province needs to continue upgrading the dragon fruit value chain in the direction of applying high technology, enhancing deep processing, and serving health and beauty. On the other hand, ensuring to meet green and sustainable agricultural standards. In the field of tourism services, Binh Thuan needs to pioneer the development of smart tourism based on a comprehensive digital platform. In the immediate future, it is necessary to research and develop a tourism data system focusing on applying artificial intelligence to analyze tourist behavior, forecast demand and optimize resource allocation...

Regarding industry, the province continues to invest in developing Vinh Tan International Port in conjunction with the development orientation of a renewable energy logistics center for the South Central Coast and Central Highlands. This is the center for the export and import of renewable energy equipment (wind turbines, solar panels, components, etc.) and a center for the transfer of raw materials and maintenance of equipment for offshore wind power projects. Accordingly, science and technology need to focus on researching and developing new technologies such as large-capacity turbines ≥ 15 MW, floating wind turbines, Energy Storage technology, etc.

Binh Thuan needs to make the most of its existing potential and proactively integrate into the global technology flow to create strategic competitive advantages and enhance the province's position on the national development map. Only when knowledge, technology and data become the foundation of all development strategies can Binh Thuan realize its aspiration to become a fast-growing and sustainable locality.
