BHG - Practically achieving achievements to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), these days Lac Nong commune (Bac Me) is focusing on mobilizing forces, calling on people to contribute labor, strength and materials on the spot to help nearly 50 poor households eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.
Implementing the Prime Minister's direction on promoting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide and the Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Bac Me district, the Party Committee and the authorities of Lac Nong commune consider this a good opportunity to help poor households have new, spacious and clean houses, feel secure in doing business, developing the economy and escaping poverty firmly. Lac Nong has 57 households eligible for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses. Accordingly, the whole commune has focused on doing a good job of propaganda, mobilizing and calling for contributions from people to contribute labor, money and materials on the spot to help households.

Although Lac Nong commune is very close to the district center, it is expected to have all the conditions for socio-economic development. But in reality, Lac Nong commune has a large area, is divided, and people do not live in a concentrated area. Especially households living in Ha Son 1 area on the east bank of Gam river. Deputy Secretary of Lac Nong commune Youth Union, Nen Thi Hue confided to reporters when visiting the progress of temporary house demolition: "Demolishing temporary houses, dilapidated houses, creating livelihoods for people has been of great concern to the Party Committee and authorities from the district to the commune. With the support of the State, the commune mobilizes maximum resources and in the spirit of "whoever has something to help, whoever has merit helps merit, whoever has property helps property, whoever has little helps little, whoever has a lot helps a lot", many households in the area have had their houses repaired and built, creating a support and motivation for poor and near-poor households to stabilize their lives and escape poverty".
Each person has a different situation, because of the difficulties and obstacles, so despite their efforts, they still cannot build their dream house. Like the stilt house located right on the bank of the Gam River, stained with time and dilapidated by Mrs. Khau Thi Mui, 73 years old, residing in Ha Son 1 village, Lac Nong commune. Mrs. Mui confided: “I am very worried, especially when the rainy season comes, the whole family has many sleepless nights; I really want to repair it but my family cannot afford it. Now I am very happy, when the State supported me with 30 million VND to buy materials to repair the house and the commune officials, militia, police, youth union and villagers came to help repair the house. This rainy season, I feel secure.”

Vice Chairwoman of Lac Nong Commune People's Committee, Hoang Thi Ngan, said: "With the highest political determination in the last 2 months of 2024, Lac Nong Commune has completed the construction of 14 temporary and dilapidated houses for people to celebrate Tet. Right from the first days of 2025, the commune continued to propagate and mobilize people to support each other, gather materials, and arrange reasonable interspersed times to start construction and repair houses for people with the determination to strive to complete 90% of temporary houses by the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification and eliminate 100% of temporary and dilapidated houses according to the 2025 plan before Uncle Ho's birthday."
Along with the State's financial support and the family's own resources, Lac Nong commune also mobilizes from socialized sources to support poor households to repair old houses and build new houses, ensuring that each new house meets the 3 hard criteria (hard foundation, hard frame - walls and hard roof), assigning and arranging human resources to support the progress, time and quality of each house. This is the way to create motivation and great joy for each person and family in difficult circumstances to stabilize their housing, confidently develop the economy, contributing to the effective implementation of the sustainable poverty reduction program and social security policies in the area.
