Inaugurated and started 250 projects with a total investment of about 1,280,000 billion VND

At the press conference, Minister, Head of the Government Office Tran Van Son, Spokesperson of the Government, said that to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Government decided to organize the online groundbreaking and inauguration ceremony of about 250 works and projects at 80 points across the country (directly combined with online to all works and projects) on the morning of August 19.

As of August 13, there were 250 projects and works in 34 provinces/cities eligible to start construction and inaugurate, with a total investment of about 1,280,000 billion VND, of which 89 projects and works were inaugurated and 161 projects and works started construction.

Among the projects, 129 projects are funded by the State with VND478,000 billion, accounting for 37% of the total amount, and 121 projects and works are funded by other sources with VND802,000 billion, accounting for 63% of the total amount. FDI capital has 5 projects with a total investment of about VND54,000 billion.

The inauguration and putting into operation of works and projects and the simultaneous commencement of large-scale works contribute to creating momentum and position for the country's socio -economic development, strengthening regional connectivity; contributing to growth of 8% or more in 2025 and double-digit growth in the following years; creating jobs and livelihoods for people and improving people's lives.

In addition, at the end of December this year (expected on December 19), we will continue to inaugurate and start construction of large-scale projects across the country, including the completion and putting into operation of over 3,000km of expressways; completing the construction of Long Thanh International Airport phase 1 (about 1 year ahead of schedule), to celebrate the 14th National Party Congress.

According to Deputy Minister of Construction Le Anh Tuan, among the 250 projects and works started and inaugurated on this occasion, there are 8 important national projects, 46 group A projects; 155 group B projects and 41 group C projects. There are many typical works such as: inauguration of the National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh commune of Vingroup Corporation (according to the investment plan, it will be completed by 2027); groundbreaking of Viettel's Research and Development Center - a typical project to research high-tech equipment, especially semiconductors, AI, Data, with a total investment of about 10,000 billion VND...

Along with that, the inauguration of the Nghe An Oncology Hospital Construction Project of Nghe An province, with a total investment of 1,259 billion VND, a scale of 1,000 beds; the inauguration of the Hai Anh Wind Power Plant Project, worth 1,565 billion VND; the groundbreaking project of the commercial service area combined with an entertainment park in Da Nang, by Da Nang Capital, with a scale of 76.9 hectares, a total investment of 79,790 billion VND.

In the field of transportation, the inauguration of the Rach Mieu Bridge Project. “Previously, for cable-stayed bridges, we had to hire foreign consultants, foreign contractors, and Vietnamese subcontractors, so the construction time was long. Now, the technology is more advanced, the design contractor is also a Vietnamese contractor, the construction unit is also Vietnamese, and the time was shortened by 4 months,” the Deputy Minister informed.

Regarding the impact of the projects, 250 projects contribute over 18% of the country's GDP value in 2025 and over 20% in the following years.

Projects using state budget capital will create a strategic infrastructure framework to guide private investment.
