My family and clan have nearly 30 graves that had to be relocated and 3 sao of rice fields were reclaimed to make way for the project. For the common good, the whole family and clan are in agreement.”
Sharing the same view with Ms. Vu Thi Tu's family, Mr. Nguyen Van Kim's family in Ngo Thon village, Gia Binh commune had nearly 1 hectare of cultivated land, 1,000 square meters of residential land, 13 graves relocated and had to move their house to a resettlement area, but everyone in the family agreed with the government's policy. Because Mr. Kim and his relatives are well aware that the Gia Binh airport project is not only a driving force for economic development but also a source of pride for their hometown and country. Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Phu Ninh village, Gia Binh commune (whose family has 10 graves to be relocated) happily said: "Giving up land for projects that contribute to a better society is the responsibility of citizens, so we wholeheartedly follow." Currently, the area of land for project implementation in the commune is about 759 hectares. In the immediate future, the locality continues to review the location, develop a preliminary compensation and support plan (agricultural land) for the land in My Thon village, an area of about 8 hectares; continue to coordinate with functional units and villages to review resettlement areas, locations, cemeteries and other restitution works in advance; Actively count the agricultural land area (about 420 hectares) that needs to be recovered to serve the construction of project items.
