The longest seaport overpass in Central Vietnam has been completed

TPO - Thuan An Bridge - the longest sea crossing bridge in the Central region - has officially been completed, marking an important technical step of the national coastal road section through Hue city. Once completed, the project will promote the formation of coastal urban areas, serving the development of local socio-economy and tourism.

On the morning of April 30 - on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day - Hue City held a ceremony to close Thuan An Bridge, the longest sea-crossing bridge in the Central region, connecting the two banks of Hai Duong - Thuan An (now Thuan An ward, Thuan Hoa district, Hue city).

The completion of the Thuan An seaport overpass is an important technical milestone, marking the final stage of construction to complete the national coastal road section through Hue city.

Thuan An Bridge is 2.36km long, part of the Hue City coastal road project, with a total investment of 3,496 billion VND for the completion phase. Of which, phase 1 has an investment value of 2,400 billion VND, including an overpass and two-way approach roads with a total length of 7.785km.

The project started in March 2022, with the Hue City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board as the investor; the Tan Nam - Dat Phuong - 479 Hoa Binh joint venture is in charge of the construction.

Notably, Thuan An seaport overpass uses modern Extradosed composite cable girder structure, main span is 218m long, special technical scale.

The project consists of 3 sections and 1 large bridge over the estuary, with a total length of about 21.8km; of which, the first section is 7.785km long, connecting from Tam Giang bridge to the center of Thuan An ward.

Despite many difficulties in terms of terrain, weather and site clearance, the construction progress of the project is still guaranteed thanks to the close direction of Hue City leaders and the high determination of the project implementation units.

According to the leader of Hue City People's Committee, the coastal route, including Thuan An Bridge, is a strategic highlight in the inter-regional connection of Quang Tri - Hue - Da Nang, promoting the formation of urban, service and coastal resort areas; at the same time, consolidating national defense and security, improving the capacity to prevent and combat natural disasters and developing the marine economy...

With the current progress, the Thuan An seaport overpass is expected to be technically open to traffic on the occasion of National Day, September 2, and then complete the entire route by the end of 2025.

The project is expected by the people of the Ancient Capital to be a new symbol of the aspiration to "reach out to the sea", in the strategy of developing Hue into a heritage, ecological, smart and integrated urban area.
