The important goals of the Vietnam women's football team include the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup qualifiers, the 2025 AFF Women's Championship and the 33rd SEA Games.
Under the guidance of veteran coach Mai Duc Chung, the list of players called up this time includes 25 players from many localities, approved by the Department of Physical Education and Sports.
Supporting coach Mai Duc Chung is a familiar coaching team with assistant Doan Minh Hai, French fitness expert Cedric Sege Christian Roger, and two former national players taking on the role of assistant coaches, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh and Dang Kieu Trinh.
According to the plan, the team will take roll call on the morning of May 6 and enter the first training session in the afternoon of the same day. This is the preparation stage for a series of international friendly matches, notably the confrontation with Werder Bremen Women's Club (Germany), taking place within the framework of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany.

Before that, on May 12, the women's team will also have a friendly match with the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club, currently training in Hanoi.
Closing the first phase of the training session, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will depart for Japan for training from June 8 to 18. This is considered an ideal opportunity for the players to access the continent's top football environment, thereby improving their physical strength, tactics and competitive spirit.
Immediately after the training trip, the team will travel to Viet Tri (Phu Tho) to participate in Group E of the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship qualifiers, taking place from June 29 to July 5.
With a tight and challenging schedule ahead, the Vietnamese women's team is showing great determination to conquer regional and continental goals in 2025.
