According to the plan issued on February 28 by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the high school vocational exam for the 2022-2023 school year will take place on May 18 (middle school exam on May 10), 3 months later than the 2022 school year.

On May 17, the invigilators of the vocational exam gathered at the exam site to listen to the regulations and check the candidates' records. According to regulations, the records of students taking the exam must meet the requirements regarding study time (not missing more than 10% of the total number of classes). The general vocational exam consists of 2 parts: the theoretical part with 40 multiple choice questions, 60 minutes to complete, and the exam will be held in the morning of May 18; and the practical part with 90 minutes to complete, and the exam will be held in shifts on the remaining sessions of May 18, 19, and 20.

Recording the situation at some testing sites this year, we found that the exam was very serious. However, the theoretical part of the exam was quite easy, so many students finished the test in about 15 - 20 minutes. The absence from the exam was also quite high. Only counting the theoretical part of the exam, at the testing site of Tan Binh High School, Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City, there were up to 90 students absent (out of a total of nearly 900 students taking the exam), accounting for about 10% of the candidates taking the exam at this testing site. At the testing site of Tay Thanh High School, Tan Phu District, there were also more than 10 students absent from the exam, including some students from the integration program.

The difference between this year's exam and 2022 is that the Department of Education and Training will not consider special circumstances and will not organize additional exams for absent candidates like last year because this year is not affected by the Covid-19 epidemic. According to the plan, the stages of the exam will be completed before June 18. After this time, students can apply for a re-evaluation.
