Historical stories vividly recreated through the stories of war veterans help young people better understand the tradition of fighting to defend the country, the fierceness of war and the heroic fighting spirit of our ancestors, including the children of the homeland in the cause of fighting for national independence, building and defending the Fatherland. These living witnesses contribute to helping the younger generation correctly perceive the value of peace, thereby determining their own mission and duty towards the country.
Union member Nguyen Le Anh Tam in Duc Chinh ward emotionally shared: “Through the discussion, I realized that today’s youth not only have the responsibility to study well but also to preserve and promote the precious traditional values that their ancestors have built. First of all, we ourselves need to live with ideals, be responsible to the community, and be worthy of being the generation that inherits and develops the traditional values of the nation.”
Colonel Bui Nhu Bac, Chairman of the Association of War Veterans in Dong Trieu City, emphasized: “Traditional education for the younger generation is one of the important political tasks of the Association of War Veterans. In particular, traditional education activities are organized by the Association at all levels in coordination with local departments, branches and organizations on major national anniversaries, so they have practical significance and attract a large number of union members, youth and teenagers to participate.
Comrade Nguyen Dinh Thang, Secretary of the Duc Chinh Ward Party Committee, said: "In recent years, the ward's youth union has proactively coordinated with the Veterans Association and the education sector to carry out many traditional education activities, fostering national defense and security knowledge for the younger generation. The local youth union also effectively deployed security and order teams in residential areas, propagandized and mobilized young volunteers to write applications to join the army... Thereby, contributing to raising awareness and sense of responsibility of union members and young people in the area towards the community and society, living with noble ideals and goals.
