In recent years, Nghe An Provincial Border Guard is one of the units with many collectives and individuals achieving high achievements in military competitions and sports of the Border Guard force and the entire army.
These results were achieved thanks to the unit strictly maintaining the training tasks according to the program, content and plan set by the superiors. The training contents were deployed uniformly and fully from the command agency to the base units and border posts stationed in the border area. In particular, the content of organizing night marches for troops was strictly maintained by the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard according to the plan developed and issued. Based on the actual situation of the area and specific tasks, each month the units of the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard will organize for officers and soldiers to participate in night marches at the appropriate time.

Talking to us, Colonel Ho Quyet Thang, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of Nghe An Provincial Border Guard, said: “Night march training is organized regularly every month according to the plan, ensuring compliance with regulations, strictness, and safety in all aspects. Through this, we can check the quality of training and physical training, and the ability to adapt to time and weather for officers and soldiers.
At the same time, we evaluate the capacity, command, and management of commanders at all levels, inspect the preparation of materials and equipment, and assess the actual health of soldiers. On that basis, we have measures to lead and direct units to help soldiers improve their qualifications in all aspects, be ready to receive and complete assigned tasks well." Officers and soldiers of units participating in night march training must ensure that they are fully armed, equipped, and have personal military supplies.

Based on the characteristics of the situation in the stationed area, the command of the units organizes night marches to ensure safety in all aspects, meeting the prescribed time and distance. At the Border Guard Command of Nghe An province stationed in Vinh city, night march training is organized on roads with no traffic, in large parks.
At border posts, soldiers march at night on inter-commune roads and border protection roads. “The training content for night marches is organized regularly by the unit command according to the schedule, meeting the requirements set by the superiors. In case officers and soldiers are busy performing tasks in previous marches, they will be arranged to make up for the training in the following session. Practice shows that night march training helps soldiers improve their preparation, physical strength, and mobility when performing tasks,” affirmed Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Viet Ha, Head of Na Ngoi Border Post.
