During a recent business trip to Regiment 236, when the unit was actively preparing for Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party, we met Major Nguyen Thi Huong. It was late afternoon, but her office was still bustling with people coming in and out, clearing and settling regular expenses and expenses for the congress. Observing her carefully checking each set of documents, reviewing spending vouchers, handling work quickly and carefully, or enthusiastically guiding the comrades in charge of finance of agencies and units... we can see that the good comments about her are completely justified.

We waited for comrade Huong to put away the files she had just completed before we started chatting. He smiled kindly and shared: “In the unit, each person has a task, so everyone must unite and support each other to complete all tasks well. I myself always clearly define my responsibilities, regularly study to improve my expertise and am ready to support my comrades and teammates in spending and settlement work, ensuring compliance with regulations, efficiency and transparency.”

Learning more, we learned that comrade Huong joined the army in 2001, training new soldiers at Battalion 11, General Staff, Division 361. With his hard-working, agile, and careful personality, he was sent to study at the 9x9 map staff class, then worked at Company 10, General Staff of Regiment 236. In 2017, he continued to study at the National Defense Industry College, then studied at the University of Logistics, majoring in finance and accounting. After graduating, he worked at the General Staff, then was transferred to be in charge of the Regiment's finance from 2021 to present.

Major of the People's Army Nguyen Thi Huong.

He confided: “Making maps is mainly independent, working on shifts. Finance is related to many agencies and units, requiring absolute accuracy, detail, and caution because records are kept for future inspection and audit. In addition, we must always update new regulations and circulars from above, while maintaining solidarity and good coordination throughout the unit.”

Thanks to his inquisitive spirit, eagerness to learn, and proactive approach to professional guidance documents, Comrade Huong quickly mastered the work. The system of books and settlement records under his management is always complete, scientific, and clear from the regimental level to each grassroots unit. All expenditures are recorded and stored by year and item, making them easy to look up when needed. He also proactively advised on organizing financial transparency and regimes in unit meetings, contributing to strengthening trust, consensus, and improving the lives of soldiers.

For nearly 5 years working in finance, with dedication and responsibility, he has always been a reliable support for leaders and commanders, a close comrade and teammate of his colleagues in the unit. Therefore, for 4 consecutive years from 2020 to 2023, he was honored as a "Basic Emulation Fighter".

Not only is she good at her profession, Major Nguyen Thi Huong is also a good family person. Her husband is also a soldier. She always arranges her work properly, fulfills her role as a mother and wife, and is a solid support for her husband to work with peace of mind.

Previously, when the two children were young, her husband had to work far from home, so she was responsible for raising the children. She had to arrange her work at the office, take care of them, raise them well, and train them to be independent. She and her husband always realized that "Family is a warm home, a cell of society", "A good family makes a good society". Therefore, although they were not often at home, they still agreed on the method of raising their children. Comrade Huong is also an active member of the women's association, actively participating in cultural and artistic activities of the unit, and is loved and trusted by her comrades and teammates.
