With increasingly better salary and bonus policies and living conditions at construction sites, during the April 30 - May 1 holiday, a series of key traffic projects and national projects will be simultaneously constructed by contractors in "3 shifts, 4 shifts" throughout the holiday, without days off to speed up and shorten project progress in accordance with the direction of the Government and ministries.

Working through holidays, construction site has no days off

To meet the goal of completing key projects, Deo Ca Group organized construction during the April 30 - May 1 holidays at traffic projects across the country with thousands of engineers and workers still working hard during the holidays.

Maintaining a hurried and urgent construction pace across all construction sites during the 5-day holiday, according to Mr. Tran Van Chuan, Deputy Director of the Huu Nghi-Chi Lang Expressway Project Management Board, taking advantage of the sunny weather, the construction unit organized 182 construction teams, mobilizing 2,000 engineers, workers and more than 1,000 pieces of equipment.

"With great determination, contractors are accelerating towards the goal of completing the asphalt concrete layer by the end of 2025. There is still a lot of work to do, so staff and workers are determined to stay at the construction site, work through the holidays, and focus maximum resources on construction to meet the project's completion schedule by the end of this year," Mr. Chuan emphasized.

During the holiday, the Dong Dang-Tra Linh expressway construction site has gathered more than 2,200 personnel and 1,141 machines and equipment, deploying 216 construction teams on the entire route with the goal of completing phase 1 of the project in December 2025 and being ready to start phase 2 of the project on September 2.

"The staff, engineers and workers always make the most of every precious day and hour to bring the project to the finish line as soon as possible. During holidays, we are divided into groups to work on the project, not afraid of difficulties or hardships to speed up," said Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuan, Deputy General Director of Dong Dang-Tra Linh Expressway Joint Stock Company.

Simultaneously constructing the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 Project, Rach Mieu 2 Bridge, the bridge over the Vam Co River, the Can Tho-Soc Trang and Hau Giang-Ca Mau Expressways, Mr. Cao Dang Hoat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dinh An Group, said that during the April 30-May 1 holiday, 580 officers, engineers, workers, and 180 machines and equipment will be mobilized to work "3 shifts, 4 teams" continuously, without days off at the construction site with a high spirit of determination to bring the projects to the finish line as planned.

"All projects ensure that 90% of the staff will work during the holidays. In particular, taking advantage of favorable weather, Dinh An Group has assigned project managers and commanders to develop detailed construction plans that are scientifically organized, absolutely safe, and synchronously effective. Materials must be prepared in advance, with solutions to gather concrete, asphalt, and fuel materials to organize and accelerate implementation, shorten progress, and ensure completion and over-schedule," Mr. Hoat emphasized.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested to speed up the progress of site clearance and exploitation of construction materials for projects to complete 3,000km of expressway in 2025.

According to Mr. Le Thanh Hai, General Director of the Central Construction Group, the unit has maintained at all construction sites nearly 500 engineers, technicians, operators and workers along with 300 locomotives and equipment at the Chi Thanh-Van Phong Expressway Project, Package 9-XL, Component Project 2 of the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway to carry out construction throughout the holiday with the highest determination to complete the project on schedule, ensuring aesthetics, techniques, and quality, bringing the project to the finish line on time.

"The construction items during the April 30-May 1 holiday include speeding up the construction of the roadbed, filling and loading the weak soil treatment area; bridge decks, underpasses, casting of median structures... The estimated value of the projects completed during the holiday is around 30 billion VND," said Mr. Hai.

There are high benefits for employees.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy, General Director of Deo Ca Group, said that the benefits for staff and employees are in accordance with State regulations and the Group's policies. The leaders at the projects also directly follow the construction site to direct the construction to ensure progress, while caring for and encouraging the spirit of the workers.

The government requires not to let the progress of key transport projects "slip"

The Government requested to review and remove difficulties and obstacles related to key transport projects scheduled to be completed by 2025 to achieve the target of 3,000km of expressway.

Therefore, the Management Board has mobilized more manpower to take turns working, arranging reasonable shifts for effective and safe construction, while ensuring the health of workers. Nutritional foods have also been added to the daily diet of engineers and workers, to maintain a bustling and urgent construction pace throughout the holidays.

Regarding the welfare regime for working on the holidays of April 30 - May 1, according to Mr. Cao Dang Hoat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dinh An Group, the Group has developed a bonus policy, calculating 200% holiday salary, supporting in cash and kind, and providing higher meals for employees than the normal daily rate.

"In addition to the prescribed salary regime, the Group's Board of Directors prepares gifts and organizes delegations to encourage and motivate the working spirit of all officers and employees at all construction sites," Mr. Hoat shared.

During this holiday, with 100% of equipment and workers mobilized, meeting the project's construction progress requirements and taking full advantage of this year's dry season weather conditions, the leader of Cienco4 Group said that construction workers working during the holiday will receive a salary of 300% compared to the normal daily salary according to the current Labor Law.
