Hospitals apply AI in diagnosis
The University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital - Linh Dam campus, Hanoi National University has been granted authority to adjust the scale of 500 beds to 1,200 beds (phase 2).
University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital - Linh Dam campus (in Hoang Liet Ward, Hanoi) is a grade 1 general hospital, with assigned functions and tasks including: medical examination, treatment, health care for civil servants, workers, students, postgraduates, and researchers of Hanoi National University; training, fostering, and participating in training and fostering medical human resources.

The hospital has departments and specialized centers of high quality nationwide such as: Cardiovascular - stroke, spine, neurology, musculoskeletal,... with a team of leading professors to bring optimal diagnosis and treatment quality, with the application of advanced technology, AI application in diagnosis and surgical robot system.
The hospital serves residents and foreigners in need. In Hoang Liet Ward alone, there are currently about 71 - 74,000 people and is expected to increase to 100,000 people in the coming years.
The maximum height of the building in the hospital is 17 floors; the green density is 30% of the total area and there are charging stations for electric vehicles.
Professor Le Ngoc Thanh, Rector of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (VNU), Vietnam National University, Hanoi, said that the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital - Linh Dam campus is a practice facility of VNU-Vietnam National University, Hanoi; implementing research, application and transfer of technology and techniques in the fields of medicine and pharmacy; and is a center for international exchange on the application of health science knowledge .
In addition to high-quality medical examination and treatment, this place will also be the basis for piloting smart hospital models, as well as the basis for enhancing in-depth research cooperation within the entire Hanoi National University on the application of information technology and AI in medical examination and treatment for people.
Previously, on November 9, 2022, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 1376/QD-TTg on transferring the Construction Hospital under the Ministry of Construction to Hanoi National University. Currently, Construction Hospital has facility 1 on Nguyen Quy Duc Street, Hanoi, with a scale of 370 beds; facility 2 in Hoang Liet area, with a scale of 500 beds.
