Professor Tran Xuan Bach is the only Vietnamese scientist in the top 10 of the Best Rising Stars of Science in the World 2023 Ranking announced by Research.com.

Research.com is a prestigious online portal for scientists around the world. This is the second year the site has published the Best Rising Stars of Science in the World 2023 Ranking.
The ranking includes a list of the top 1,000 scientists from all major research fields, with statistics only considering those whose first publication was in the last 12 years.
According to the list, the leader of the ranking is Mohsen Sheikholeslami, an Iranian. Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Bach - Hanoi Medical University - is the only Vietnamese scientist in the top 10, ranked 2nd, up one place compared to 2022.
The Top 10 also includes scientists from the following countries: China (5 people), the US, Italy, Pakistan (1 person from each country).

In addition, in the ranking of 1,000 scientists, there are 6 people working in Vietnam, including 4 Vietnamese scientists and 2 foreign scientists. They are: Dr. Hossein Moayedi (Duy Tan University, ranked 306); Dr. Mohammad Ghalambaz (Ton Duc Thang University, ranked 337); Dr. Tran Nguyen Hai (Duy Tan University, ranked 603); Dr. Thai Hoang Chien (Ton Duc Thang University, ranked 621); Dr. Phung Van Phuc (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, ranked 762); Dr. Hoang Nhat Duc (Duy Tan University, ranked 968).
China is the country with the most scientists ranked (353), followed by the US (171), and several other countries such as Iran (51), the UK (40), Australia (48), Germany (27), Singapore (26), and South Korea (15).
For this year's rankings, Research.com looked at data from 166,880 scientists, with the world's top publication and citation productivity, using data from Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic Graph...
Prof. Tran Xuan Bach (born in 1984), currently working at the Institute of Preventive Medicine and Public Health, Hanoi Medical University, is one of the three youngest people to be recognized as Professor in 2023. He was also the youngest Associate Professor in Vietnam in 2016, at the age of 32. In 2015, he was awarded the International Clinical and Prevention Research Award by the Johns Hopkins University AIDS Research Center (USA). In 2020, he received the Noam Chomsky Award - Award for Achievement in Research. At the end of November, he was included in Clarivate's list of scientists in the top 1% of the most cited in 2023. |
