April 23, 1975 became a historical milestone for the hometown of La Gi/ Ham Tan to turn to a new page of history - construction and development. On the 50-year journey full of challenges and pride, La Gi/ Ham Tan with its achievements in economy, society, national defense and security has been further portrayed through vivid realistic images.

But the most remarkable mark is the 20-year period since La Gi town was established under Decree No. 114/ND-CP/2005 of the Government, adjusting the administrative boundaries of Ham Tan district and establishing La Gi town. During those 20 years, La Gi town has had the opportunity to develop its resources and natural potentials, gradually meeting the requirements and plans from the resolutions of the Party Congresses of the town in each period. After 13 years, the Ministry of Construction recognized La Gi town as a type 3 urban area, recognizing the town's sustainable development process. The town continues to focus on mobilizing and exploiting its advantages for investment and development. Special attention is paid to appropriate planning, construction of economic and social infrastructure works... From management solutions, reasonable exploitation of the results of the average annual state budget revenue and aiming at focused investment, at the same time removing shortcomings and obstacles with many synchronous measures. Thanks to that, La Gi town has a new look, quickly on the path of a commercial - service - tourism urban area in the south of Binh Thuan.
