One afternoon in late April, with the wooden stick that had accompanied him for many years, Mr. Huynh Dieu (Tam Thai commune, Phu Ninh district) went to the commune People's Committee to receive a gift from the President. As a first-class war invalid, entitled to the regime of people with meritorious services to the revolution, prisoners of war, and families of martyrs, Mr. Dieu regularly received monthly allowances, however, this gift made him feel emotional, recalling the war-torn period.

“Receiving the gift from the President on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the country’s reunification, I almost recalled countless memories of myself and my comrades during the war years. The President’s gift contained the deep feelings of the Party and State for us. My family will organize a family reunion party, telling our children and grandchildren about the price of peace paid with the blood of our ancestors,” said Mr. Dieu.

Receiving the gift from the President on the afternoon of April 29, 2025 at the People's Committee of Tam Thai commune, Mr. Bui Le (a martyr's relative) could not help but be moved, sharing: "My father and uncle fell so that we can have peace today. Those losses and pains will forever be engraved in our minds. This gift cannot heal the sacrifices, but it somehow comforts and encourages the families of the fallen heroes and martyrs."

Awarded the Third Class Resistance Medal after her contributions to Que Son land and fighting for national peace, Ms. Ngo Thi Ba cycled to the Commune People's Committee to receive the gift from the President. "I am very grateful for this meaningful gift from the President. This is the close attention of the Party and State to people who have contributed to the revolution like us," said Ms. Ba.

On the morning of April 30, 2025, some localities still worked as usual, giving gifts to meritorious people and policy families. According to the People's Committee of Binh Nguyen Commune (Thang Binh District), the gift from the President was sent on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification, so Binh Nguyen Commune wanted to hand over more than 200 gifts to meritorious people on April 29 and 30.

On the morning of the 30th, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Tran Thi Cuc (Binh Nguyen Commune, Thang Binh District) came to the Commune People's Committee to receive a gift from the President. "The joy of victory and the happiness of peace come back every year on this important occasion. This year, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, we received a meaningful gift that was even more touching when mentioning the brilliant milestone of the Vietnamese people" - Ms. Cuc confided.
