Introducing the project "People with disabilities in Quang Tri are supported to live independently and integrate into society"

This morning, December 6, the Quang Tri Department of Health in collaboration with the Institute for Community Development Studies (ACDC) organized an introduction to the project "People with disabilities in Quang Tri are supported to live independently and integrate into society" sponsored by the Green Cross Switzerland Organization (GCCH) through ACDC.

The project “People with disabilities in Quang Tri are supported to live independently and integrate into society” aims to improve the physical health of people with disabilities (PWD) through rehabilitation activities by improving the capacity of district health centers in rehabilitation and orthopedics; providing rehabilitation services and providing assistive devices.

Strengthening social integration for people with disabilities and their families through psychological support and counseling for people with disabilities and their families; independent living and supporting social integration for people with disabilities.

The main activities of the project include: Training to improve capacity for medical staff and PWD association staff on orthopedic and rehabilitation devices; PWD are provided with orthopedic devices and prosthetic limbs; organizing screening examinations, assessing function and determining rehabilitation needs and rehabilitation interventions for PWD.

Assessment of independent living ability and TOT group meetings; activities of visiting PWDs' homes and providing peer counseling on independent living; activities of adjusting PWDs' homes; working with specialized units to identify existing psychological support services in Quang Tri province; training on knowledge and skills to identify symptoms of psychological disorders for officials at all levels; assessment of psychological disorders of PWDs and their families...

The project "People with disabilities in Quang Tri are supported to live independently and integrate into society" is being implemented in Trieu Phong, Gio Linh and Vinh Linh districts with the implementation period from 2024 to 2027; the total project implementation capital is over 5.6 billion VND.
