The Politburo's decision on personnel transfer was handed over to Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc by Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen on the afternoon of February 19.

Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc is from Ben Luc district, Long An province, has a master's degree in geology and has been working in this locality for a long time.

From 1993 to 2005, Mr. Duoc started working at the Land Management Board (now the Provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment). Then, from July 2006 to March 2013, he held positions such as: Director of the Provincial Land Use Registration Office, Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Thanh Hoa district, Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Long An province.

From April 2013 to October 2020, he held the positions of Secretary of Tan Thanh district, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and then Permanent Deputy Secretary of Long An Provincial Party Committee.

At the 11th Long An Provincial Party Congress on October 14, 2020, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc was elected to hold the position of Provincial Party Secretary for the 2020 - 2025 term. In November of the same year, he was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 2016 - 2021 term and has held these positions to date.

At the 13th National Congress of the Party on January 30, 2021, Mr. Duoc was elected as a member of the Party Central Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen said that immediately after the decision was handed over, the city is preparing procedures for the City People's Council to elect Mr. Duoc to hold the position of Chairman of the City People's Committee according to regulations.

The Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee currently has 5 members, including: Secretary Nguyen Van Nen and 4 Deputy Secretaries: Ms. Nguyen Thi Le, Chairwoman of the City People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi and Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc. Mr. Phan Van Mai, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee was elected as Chairman of the National Assembly's Economic and Financial Committee on February 18.
