Son Thuy is a border commune, mainly ethnic minorities, life is difficult, but people are always interested in preserving and promoting many traditional sports imbued with national cultural identity. To achieve this result, Son Thuy commune regularly propagates to raise people's awareness in preserving and developing traditional sports. At the same time, mobilize all resources to invest in building and repairing the campus of village cultural houses, sports areas so that people have a place to practice sports. Regularly organize exchange activities, competitions of traditional sports to widely develop the movement of physical training and sports in ethnic minority areas.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Thanh, Vice Chairman of Son Thuy Commune People's Committee, shared: For a long time, on holidays and Tet, the villages in the commune have organized many traditional sports. These sports do not distinguish between men, women, or ages, so they attract a large number of people to participate. This is an opportunity for the villagers to strengthen solidarity, create an exciting atmosphere, and contribute to preserving and promoting the sports of their people.
In order to preserve and develop ethnic minority sports in the community, many mountainous communes in Thanh Hoa province have focused on organizing physical training and sports activities associated with the event of celebrating the country's anniversary. In particular, in recent years, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has organized activities to preserve and promote ethnic minority sports. This includes implementing Project 6, under the National Target Program on Socio -Economic Development in Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2030 period, organizing traditional sports competitions in ethnic minorities and mountainous areas of Thanh Hoa province. This is an opportunity for ethnic minorities to compete, improve their health, create community cohesion and preserve and promote traditional sports.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Tu, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism , said: Currently, many sports of ethnic minorities are included in provincial sports competitions. This further affirms the attention of all levels and sectors to the preservation and development of ethnic sports. In the coming time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to direct communes with ethnic minorities to pay attention to preserving and promoting traditional sports of ethnic minorities through integrating them into cultural activities and festivals. Maintain the sports competitions of ethnic groups in Thanh Hoa province, promote the development of the sports movement in mountainous communes in particular and the sports movement of Thanh Hoa province in general. Thereby, continue to realize the goals and tasks of implementing the Project "Developing sports in Thanh Hoa province to 2030, vision to 2045".
