At gold trading companies Phu Quy, Bao Tin Minh Chau, Mi Hong ..., the price of gold rings bought and sold by these companies is about 100,000-200,000 VND/tael higher than that of SJC Company. In particular, the price of gold rings sold at AJC Gold Company is up to 80.5 million VND/tael, sold at 81.6 million VND/tael.

Particularly, 99.99 gold rings produced by gold shops have a buying price of 79.8 million VND/tael and a selling price of 81.2 million VND/tael.

With the above prices, people who have bought gold recently have made quite a profit. Ms. Le Thi Diep (Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City) said that 2 months ago she bought 10 chi (1 tael) of gold rings produced by SJC Company for 75-76 million VND/tael and so far she has sold them for a profit of nearly 5 million VND.

Similarly, Mr. Le Thanh Nhan (District 12, Ho Chi Minh City) who regularly buys and sells gold rings said that he has the opportunity to earn a large profit if he sells all the gold rings he has bought since the beginning of the year.

However, at this time, the supply of gold rings is extremely limited because very few people sell. Employees of SJC stores said that the company buys as many gold rings as it can, but each person can only buy 1 tael.

According to the reporter of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, the price of gold rings has skyrocketed but it is not easy for buyers. Some businesses and gold shops have announced that they have run out of gold rings for many months now. Ms. Bich Thanh, living in Binh Thanh District, said that she wanted to buy a quantity of gold rings to save but went to some stores of PNJ Company and they all announced that they were out of gold. She did not feel secure buying at a gold shop near her house.

Meanwhile, according to Mr. Le Chanh, owner of a gold shop (HCMC), in recent months people have "ignored" SJC gold bars, switching to holding gold rings. Meanwhile, Vietnam does not import raw gold, authorities have increased inspections of gold trading activities, causing those who specialize in supplying gold of unknown origin to remain silent.

"This makes some businesses and gold shop owners have no raw materials to produce gold rings. At the same time, because there are very few people nearby to sell, many units do not have enough goods to meet customer demand," said Mr. Chanh.
