Not only is the number of children increasing, the rate of children in shock is also increasing, especially in the last days of July. In particular, there was a day when the Tropical Diseases Department had up to 19 children in shock. This is very noteworthy.
Hemorrhagic shock is a condition of significant plasma leakage leading to shock, fluid accumulation in the pleural and abdominal areas, leading to symptoms such as: Difficulty breathing, low blood pressure and abdominal pain, increased bleeding tendency and organ failure. This is a dangerous complication of dengue fever, usually occurring on the 3rd day of the disease.

Doctor Nguyen Thanh Quyen said: When admitted to the hospital, most children have a very high fever but are not in shock, so they will be placed in different rooms for monitoring. Children who are admitted with signs of pre-shock or shock will be placed in other rooms for closer monitoring. Children in shock are taken to the department's emergency room, treated according to a separate protocol, and closely monitored. When stable, they are transferred to the recovery room.
According to the report of the Department of Health , in July (as of July 24), the whole province recorded nearly 1,600 dengue fever cases, an increase of 82.45% compared to the previous month (866 cases) and an increase of 1.46 times compared to the same period in 2024 (642 cases). Accumulated from the beginning of the year to July 24, the whole province recorded more than 5,100 dengue fever cases.
