At the training session, Deputy Head of the Department of Planning and Development of Tourism Resources (Hanoi Department of Tourism) Pham Diem Hao said that agricultural and rural tourism is not simply about sightseeing and experience, but also a bridge for tourists to explore and appreciate the indigenous cultural values, traditional occupations and typical agricultural ecosystems of each locality. The city aims to develop agricultural and rural tourism based on promoting traditional cultural values, the landscape environment of rural areas, contributing to the restructuring of the rural economy, building sustainable new rural areas; increasing the attraction of social resources, especially from the private sector, the active participation of local communities for investment in the development of agricultural and rural tourism, contributing to the restructuring of the rural economy, creating jobs on the spot, increasing income for workers.

Gia Lam has many advantages in developing agricultural and rural tourism with concentrated agricultural production areas, many traditional craft villages, many historical and cultural relics. Coming to Gia Lam, visitors have the opportunity to admire and explore 320 historical and cultural relics, including 1 special national relic, Phu Dong Temple, 64 national relics, 89 city-level relics and visit and experience many typical traditional festivals, such as: Giong Festival, Ba Tam Temple Festival, Chu Dong Tu Festival...

Gia Lam has 4 tourist destinations recognized by the city: Bat Trang, Phu Dong, Duong Xa, Kim Lan. Many tourism products and programs have been exploited, attracting tourists, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the district, especially in building new rural areas. By the end of 2023, the district will have 20/20 communes meeting advanced new rural standards, 7/20 communes meeting model new rural standards, of which 3 communes are model new rural communes in tourism, 2 towns: Yen Vien, Trau Quy meeting civilized urban standards.
