According to published information, since the beginning of 2023, the global technology market has cut more than 94,000 jobs, companies such as Microsoft, Alphabet and Amazon, Meta, Google, Twitter ... have cut a large number of employees. However, the revenue and profits of these technology corporations not only did not decrease but also increased compared to previous years.

Experts believe that Gen AI (General AI) is playing a key role in bringing about this result, helping businesses optimize costs and resources while still ensuring business targets. Therefore, mass layoffs could be a sign of the birth of a new generation of workforce - Gen AI.

Mr. Hoang Nam Tien, Vice Chairman of FPT University Council spoke at the event.

A recent report also shows that more than 88% of global businesses have begun applying AI in human resource management, of which about 44% use AI to support screening and selecting potential candidates.

According to Mr. Hoang Nam Tien, Vice Chairman of FPT University Council, currently 70% of Gen Z can use Gen AI technology and this is the force that is being prioritized for recruitment globally, with 72% having Gen AI skills being recruited. Therefore, businesses will have major changes in human resource management, focusing especially on retaining Gen Z with AI skills to maintain development.

It can be seen that a new workforce is emerging and is rapidly penetrating the labor market, which is the “Gen AI force” - a force in the broad sense, including devices, automation software, Generative AI (eg robots, chatbots, chatGPT...) and Gen Z personnel with skills in using Gen AI ”, said Mr. Hoang Nam Tien.
