Regarding his mistake, Mr. Duong Dinh Thuong said: Previously, because of family problems, some bad friends invited him to go to Laos to buy drugs to bring back to Vietnam to sell for profit. Only once, Thuong was arrested and sentenced to 66 months in prison. Thanks to his good behavior, in February 2024, Thuong had his sentence reduced and was released from prison.

Right at the time when he was in a precarious situation in the early days of his reformation, Lao Bao Commune Police sent officers and soldiers to encourage, help, and guide Duong Dinh Thuong to pursue a career as a carpenter.

To help Duong Dinh Thuong invest in opening a carpentry workshop, Lao Bao Commune Police acted as collateral for Duong to borrow capital from the social policy bank. “If it weren’t for the sincere and wholehearted help of the commune police from the first days of reintegration into the community, I don’t know where my life would have gone,” Duong Dinh Thuong affirmed.

After the new Lao Bao commune was established on the basis of merging the localities: Tan Thanh commune, Tan Long commune and Lao Bao town, the Lao Bao commune Police Party Committee was completed with 34 party members, operating in 5 party cells, and at the same time, the Commune Police Party Congress for the term 2025-2030 was held.

After the congress, the Party Committee of the Commune Police issued working regulations, unifying the motto of action with the goal: "Maintaining political security, social order and safety in the border area in the new situation. Proactively and resolutely fighting against law violations and hostile forces", focusing on specific solutions such as strengthening the role of local Party committees and authorities, mobilizing the combined strength of the masses to ensure political security and social order and safety; proactively preventing and resolutely fighting against law violations; building a solid people's security posture, the Commune Police force is the core in the movement "All people protect national security".

To proactively combat law violations, Lao Bao Commune Police coordinated with functional forces to step up patrolling and strictly control border areas, especially key areas, trails, and openings, promptly detect and prevent illegal entry, trade fraud, illegal buying and selling and transportation of drugs; proactively grasp the situation; and work with professional units of the Provincial Police to effectively combat and prevent criminal, economic , and drug crimes...

Mrs. Ho Thi Mo, an ethnic minority woman in Lia commune, came to Lao Bao Commune Administrative Service Center to apply for a new ID card. Due to the long distance, old age, and hot weather, she was given priority by the commune police force to handle her application. Within just 5 minutes, all paperwork was completed. Talking to us, Mrs. Ho Thi Mo was moved: "I don't know what else to say, thank you very much, police officers!"

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Huu Son, Chief of Lao Bao Commune Police, said: “The unit focuses on building a regular, modern, professionally competent commune police force, becoming a beautiful image in the hearts of the people, close to the people, serving the people. The two tasks set for Lao Bao Commune Police after the merger are to thoroughly resolve people's concerns about drug crimes; mobilize, propagate, and prevent and handle the phenomenon of a group of young people using modified, modified, and muffler-removed motorbikes... gathering, weaving, and swinging, causing insecurity and disorder, posing a potential risk of traffic accidents.”
