On the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, people from all over the country flocked to the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap and his wife Dang Bich Ha to light incense and express their feelings and gratitude to the nation's talented general.

Many people came to visit and pay tribute to the People's General.

Although the number of visitors and incense offerings increased dramatically, the General's family performed well in managing, protecting and guiding, creating a solemn, polite and orderly atmosphere on this sacred day.

According to the representative of General Vo Nguyen Giap's family, on April 30, the tomb welcomed nearly 12,000 visitors, many times more than usual.

General Vo Nguyen Giap was a major contributor to the historic victory on April 30, 1975, helping to fulfill the wishes of the entire Vietnamese people after more than 20 years of arduous fighting against the US to save the country.

The entire process of the 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprising, from the time the plan was initiated until the day of total victory, was the result of many factors, including the important command role of General and Commander-in-Chief Vo Nguyen Giap.
