General Vo Nguyen Giap was a major contributor to the historic victory on April 30, 1975, helping to fulfill the wishes of the entire Vietnamese people after more than 20 years of arduous fighting against the US to save the country.

The entire process of the 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprising, from the time the plan was initiated until the day of total victory, was the result of many factors, including the important command role of General and Commander-in-Chief Vo Nguyen Giap.
