Don't "put all your eggs in one basket"
In the context of global trade fluctuations, Nghiep Xuan Import Export Trading Company Limited, Gia Nghia City, is suffering many impacts on production and business activities.
However, according to Ms. Lau Kieu Van, Director of Nghiep Xuan Import Export Trading Company Limited, the company can still stand firm when it knows how to proactively adapt and flexibly adjust its strategy.
Ms. Van said that the Covid-19 pandemic is a valuable vaccine that helps the company calmly respond to all situations such as the current US tax imposition.
Thanks to proactively diversifying products and markets early on, when facing difficulties, the company always seeks to expand its export market share to potential markets such as China, Canada, EU, Australia...
Ms. Van said: “Not depending on a single market is a lesson that businesses have learned after many events. The Covid-19 pandemic and the post-pandemic economic crisis have helped businesses proactively adapt and find ways to overcome the "headwinds".
Thanks to that, in the first quarter of 2025, the company produced and supplied to the market over 1,000 tons of various products, an increase of 30% over the same period last year. The products that the company is focusing on producing are: frozen mango, frozen durian, jackfruit, banana leaves, vegetables, spices, etc.
To adapt to the new situation, the company is taking advantage of the negotiation time between governments to distribute manufactured products, increasing the quantity of goods to serve partners. The company is still maintaining old orders with reasonable prices as previously signed contracts.
It can be seen that the market diversification strategy not only helps the company stabilize its operations but also enhances its ability to build its own brand and increase the added value of its export products.
Corporate restructuring
Long Hue Investment Joint Stock Company, Tuy Duc district is also realizing the spirit of initiative by continuously investing in innovation and comprehensive restructuring of the enterprise to proactively welcome "headwinds".
In the first quarter of 2025, the company produced more than 240 tons of various products for export markets. The company's main markets are countries such as China, the Netherlands, Thailand, etc.
Since entering the export market, the company has focused on developing raw material areas that meet VietGAP standards, helping to stabilize the supply for production. The company has actively applied digital transformation throughout the entire production process, from the growing area to the origin of the product.
The company has changed many new equipment, bringing modern machinery into the operation process to optimize the production process. In the long-term strategy, the company is focusing on the domestic market with the M'nong passion fruit brand.
The company focuses on deep processing and developing high-quality passion fruit products to reduce dependence on export markets.
Notably, in the past year, the company invested nearly 5 billion VND to build a new factory with an area of 2,000m2, including 2 frozen warehouses and 3 cold storages. The factory was built by the company according to export standards, ensuring effective service for domestic and foreign orders.
Faced with changes in US trade policy, the company also quickly planned to expand to other markets such as Europe, Northeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, etc.
According to experts, the US Government's announcement to temporarily suspend reciprocal tariffs for 90 days against more than 75 countries is considered a "golden opportunity" for businesses to quickly export orders to the US as well as carefully prepare for long-term response solutions.
The Industry and Trade Department believes that this 90-day period will create favorable conditions for Dak Nong enterprises to remove many remaining obstacles in production and business activities.
This is also the “golden 90 days” for businesses to take advantage of to boost export orders, restructure the value chain, overcome weaknesses in the operational structure. From there, gradually transform to a sustainable growth model, diversify markets and strengthen supply chains.
In reality, Dak Nong's economy is increasingly integrating more deeply with the international market, but is not dependent on any single market.
Key products such as coffee, pepper, cashew nuts, etc. are mainly exported to China, Japan, the EU, etc. instead of focusing only on the US market. This shows that Dak Nong enterprises are fully capable of adapting, expanding the market, and taking advantage of the effectiveness of trade agreements.
With timely support and strategic vision, Dak Nong enterprises will be an important driving force to help the local economy overcome difficulties and develop sustainably in a globalized environment.
In the first quarter of 2025, Dak Nong's export value of goods reached 253.9 million USD, an increase of 12.7% over the same period last year, equivalent to 22.9% of the annual plan.
