On the morning of August 19, at Hanoi Station, Vietnam Railways Corporation introduced the double-decker train “Hanoi 5-door city” - a unique cultural tourism product appearing for the first time in Vietnam. The event took place on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, with the meaning of both recalling history and opening a new direction for the railway industry to combine tourism and culture.
The train is inspired by the ancient Thang Long citadel, associated with five famous gates: Quan Chuong Gate, Cau Den Gate, Cau Giay Gate, Cho Dua Gate and Dong Mac Gate. The train is designed to be both classic and modern, evoking memories of old Hanoi while still ensuring comfort.
The highlight of “Hanoi 5 Gates” is the large window system, opening up a new perspective on the life of the capital. Here, passengers can enjoy traditional arts such as quan ho, ca tru, hat xam, cheo…, visit mini exhibitions or simply capture check-in moments reminiscent of Hanoi.
The appearance of “Hanoi 5 gates” on the occasion of National Day not only brings a new journey to people and tourists, but also shows the efforts of the railway industry in linking the preservation of urban heritage with modern development.
Also at the event, the railway industry put into operation a ticket control system using biometric technology at Hanoi Railway Station. In the first phase, passengers authenticate using chip-embedded citizen identification cards; in the near future, they may use the VNeID electronic identification application.
With the simultaneous launch of the "Hanoi 5-door" train and the application of new technology, the railway industry has created a memorable mark during this year's National Day holiday./.
