Within the framework of the conference, the Vietnam Association of Surgical and Endoscopic Surgery received the Third Class Labor Medal, becoming the first medical professional association to receive this noble title. Continuing the important milestone in the association's development history, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital will host the next Conference in 2024 - the same year as the hospital's 30th anniversary (1994 - 2024).

The Vietnam Association of Surgical and Endoscopic Surgery was established on the basis of merging the Vietnam Association of Surgical Surgery with the Vietnam Association of Laparoscopic Surgery and Endoscopy. With a history of more than 60 years of operation, many generations of leaders of the association have made efforts to build and develop the association, contributing to bringing the Vietnamese surgical profession on par with other countries in the world. The annual national scientific conference is an opportunity for doctors and medical staff to exchange knowledge and professional practice experience to improve the quality of diagnosis and treatment for patients.

This year's conference has 32 training sessions with more than 350 quality scientific reports by researchers, doctors, nurses and technicians, of which 30 reports are in English. The conference has the participation of nearly 100 chairmen who are professors, associate professors, leading doctors and reporters from many specialties such as digestion, urology, orthopedics, cardiology - thoracic, obstetrics, pediatrics, nursing...

Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan, Deputy Minister of Health, said that over the years, the Vietnam Association of Surgery and Endoscopic Surgery has promoted its strengths and always excellently completed its tasks such as gathering and uniting members; organizing and coordinating activities between members for the common benefit of the association; properly implementing the association's principles and purposes to participate in developing fields related to the association's activities, contributing to the construction and development of the country. In particular, the National Scientific Conference on Surgery and Endoscopic Surgery is one of the prestigious professional scientific conferences in the health sector. The Ministry of Health believes and hopes that the conference will always be an opportunity to meet and exchange experiences between surgical and endoscopic surgery specialists from all over the country and internationally, to review and evaluate disease prevention and patient care in Vietnam, and to set out strategic directions for work in the coming time.

As one of the members with many contributions to the construction and development of the association, experts from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City brought to the conference many quality reports in the fields of abdominal hernia surgery, laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy, laparoscopic gastric cancer treatment...

Within the framework of the conference, many experts from Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital were honored for their positive contributions to the development of the association, and at the same time received the flag to host the next conference in 2024. The conference will be an opportunity for colleagues across the country to meet and exchange scientific knowledge and experience in professional practice to supplement and improve applied knowledge in surgical practice and endoscopic surgery.
