From the fire of the "three capable" movement...
In the bustling atmosphere of emulation to fight the US, responding to President Ho Chi Minh's call, on March 22, 1965, the Vietnam Women's Union launched the "Three Responsibilities" women's movement with three key contents: taking on production and work to replace men in the battle; taking on family to secure the rear; taking on combat service and being ready to fight when necessary. With the attention and close guidance of Uncle Ho, the movement was renamed "Three Responsibilities" - a simple, familiar but profound name, both reflecting the tradition of responsibilities and strongly arousing the revolutionary spirit of Vietnamese women.
During this historical period, many young women of Hoa Binh enthusiastically joined the militia, the main force, and the youth volunteers to directly fight with guns. Many of them sacrificed their lives and forever became "immortal flowers" in the hearts of the nation. Although they were passionate about family happiness, in order to gain independence, freedom, and national unity, they put aside their personal feelings for the greater good, encouraging and motivating their husbands, children, and relatives to go to war.
In particular, responding to the "Three Virtues" movement, women in Hoa Binh province enthusiastically participated in practical activities, contributing to defeating the American invaders. Women in the rear were not only responsible for production, work, and raising children, but also actively participated in the militia and self-defense forces and directly fought, cared for wounded soldiers, families of martyrs, and helped soldiers. Immediately after launching the movement, more than 47,900 women's union members in the province registered to strive to achieve "Three Virtues" women...
On the production front, women registered to work overtime, take on additional work, and take on difficult tasks. Women farmers focused on improving rice productivity, actively working with cooperatives to build fields, build embankments, and build irrigation ditches. In 1968 alone, cooperatives contributed approximately 2.3 million working days to irrigation, of which women participated in over 1.4 million working days. In small-scale industrial production, women strived to ensure working days and hours, increase labor productivity, and effectively implement the slogan "each person works as two", "one hand with a hammer, one hand with a gun"... Regardless of the field they worked in, women of all ethnic groups in the province launched a widespread emulation movement, demonstrating their great revolutionary role and ability, patriotism, creative labor, and will to rise up and actively contribute to the frontline in defeating the invading American imperialists.
...to the spirit of the new era
Entering the period of integration and digital transformation, the spirit of "three responsibilities" continues to be preserved, promoted and strongly spread by Hoa Binh women. They are not only the ones who keep the fire burning in the family, but also the core force in building new rural areas, developing the economy, preserving cultural identity, protecting the environment and promoting digital transformation.
In 2024, the Women's Union of Hoa Binh province achieved many outstanding results: Completing and exceeding 10/10 annual targets, some targets exceeding the entire term. The application of information technology was promoted with 164 models, 17 women's models in cyberspace, 2 clubs (CLB) "Women integrating in the cyber environment" with 5,375 members; 100% of the Union's bases have Fanpage/Facebook, more than 800 Zalo groups with more than 40,000 members participating; 97.3% of units and bases have computers connected to the network. The sports movement and preservation of cultural identity developed with 364 folk dance clubs, 256 volleyball clubs, 64 dance teams, 60 clubs preserving ethnic culture with 1,850 members.
In particular, economic development and startups were promoted with 17 livelihood models, 27 startup projects, 2 projects reaching the final round of the national startup competition; 7 cooperatives, 9 cooperative groups, 37 joint groups, 10 livelihood models were established; 517 women were enhanced in capacity, mobilized to deposit over 4 billion VND in savings at the Social Policy Bank. Social security and community support were effectively implemented with 98 children sponsored, thousands of gifts given to women in difficult circumstances, 1,286 women's households were helped to escape poverty or near poverty...
Sharing about the role of women in the new era, Ms. Hoang Thi Duyen, President of the Provincial Women's Union, emphasized: Hoa Binh today is changing strongly. In the flow of innovation, women in the province are increasingly confident, capable, and affirming their positions in all fields. From fertile fields to modern offices, from highland classrooms to factories and construction sites, everywhere there are the figures of "three-talented" women of the new era.
The emulation movement "Women actively study, work creatively, build happy families" and the Campaigns "Building families of 5 no, 3 clean", "Women of Peace start-up"... become the driving force for each member to constantly practice, contribute and spread good values to the community.
