Da Nang selects contractor for pre-feasibility study of urban railway project

On August 11, the Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects of Da Nang City announced that it had just issued a document approving the first adjusted and supplemented contractor selection plan for the Urban Railway System (LRT) project in Da Nang City.

The first package is a survey consultancy and preparation of a pre-feasibility study report with a total value of 10.7 billion VND from the city budget. The form of domestic open bidding via the internet, applying the one-stage, two-envelope method. The implementation period of the package is 150 days.

Previously, the People's Committee of Da Nang city called for investment in the electric train project connecting Da Nang city and Hoi An, with total estimated investment capital from 7,497 billion VND to 14,995 billion VND.

In May 2025, the People's Committee of Da Nang City also established a specialized working group to study investment in the LRT line connecting Da Nang - Quang Nam . At the same time, the People's Committee of Quang Nam Province (old) issued a List of investment attraction projects, prioritizing investment attraction in the locality in 2025, including the Hoi An - Da Nang and Chu Lai - Da Nang LRT projects.

The LRT route connecting Da Nang - Hoi An has been integrated into the urban transport development plan of Da Nang city for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

The project is expected to significantly reduce the load on the Da Nang - Hoi An road route and aim to synchronously develop the local strategic transport infrastructure system with 5 types of transport (road, railway, inland waterway, sea, air) in a modern direction, in line with national planning orientation, ensuring intra-regional and inter-regional connectivity along the coastal economic corridors, East-West economic corridors...
