On the evening of May 30, Bien Hoa City Police (Dong Nai) said that they had coordinated with relevant professional units to simultaneously search 8 medical facilities in the area to clarify the act of profiteering from social insurance.
Accordingly, on the same morning, dozens of police officers simultaneously searched 8 clinics in the wards of Tan Hiep, Long Binh, Long Binh Tan, Trang Dai, and Buu Long. Thereby, the police force summoned more than 30 people to work and take statements to serve the investigation.
The police determined that this was a very large-scale case, with an estimated tens of thousands of people buying "certificates of unemployment and social insurance benefits" to profit from social insurance worth hundreds of billions of dong.
Working with medical facilities, the police seized many documents related to "certificates of leave, social insurance benefits", seized many machines, seals, etc.
According to Bien Hoa City Police, these facilities also sold many documents related to health examinations for thousands of people, or created medical records to take advantage of health insurance.
The police are continuing to investigate the case to clarify the role of the clinic owner and those involved. At the same time, they are investigating the brokers who buy and sell these fake medical examination and treatment documents.
