On October 20, 2024, Monash University held its first Open Day in Ho Chi Minh City. Many students and parents are looking forward to the next event in Hanoi this Saturday, October 26.

Before the Open Day in Hanoi took place, Ms. Hoa Levitas - Regional Manager, Marketing and International Recruitment Department at Monash University shared useful information about recruitment as well as the Open Day.

Top choice for international students

- In your opinion, what makes Monash the top choice for international students, especially Vietnamese students?

Monash is a top choice for Australian and international students thanks to its flexible, interdisciplinary curriculum, vibrant student life and excellent opportunities. The University currently offers more than 200 scholarships, of which nearly 80 are for international students. Some faculties have their own scholarships that reduce tuition fees by up to 50%.

- What courses does Monash currently offer, what are the requirements and programs, ma'am?

Monash is one of the universities with the widest range of courses in Australia, from foundation to undergraduate, masters and research degrees. Monash also has the widest range of double degree programs, allowing students to study two degrees in 4-5 years, saving time and money.

- How did Monash University rank in the global university rankings last year and what are its strengths?

Monash is consistently ranked in the top 50 universities in the world. For example, in June 2024, Monash was ranked 37th in the QS World University Rankings 2025; or 35th in the US News and World Report 2024 - 2025...

Monash has three strengths that attract Vietnamese students: excellence in teaching, optimizing students' abilities and learning outcomes; equipping students with the necessary skills in every course; and the opportunity to receive a higher salary after graduation.

- Monash University offers unique educational experiences, from your perspective, what opportunities does this bring to students?

At Monash, students can take part in leading educational experiences such as the Monash Flagship Rich Educational Experiences. The Global Immersion Guarantee (GIG) puts students in one of eight countries: India, Indonesia, Fiji, Samoa, Vanuatu, Malaysia, China or Italy to develop sustainable solutions.

- What is life like in Melbourne for international students? What support programs does Monash have for new international students, especially in adjusting to the new study and living environment?

Monash University is located in Melbourne, the most liveable city in Australia and ranked 4th globally (EIU 2024).

Monash supports students before they leave with online orientation sessions in Vietnam and a free airport pick-up service for students arriving in Melbourne for the first time. The University offers a range of free programs to help students become familiar with Australian culture and develop their language and academic skills.

Opportunities for Vietnamese students

- In the future, does Monash have plans to expand cooperation with Vietnamese universities and businesses?

Monash is actively expanding its collaboration with universities and businesses in Vietnam. In recent years, we have established partnerships with nine Vietnamese universities to expand educational opportunities for Vietnamese students and foster strong relationships between Monash University and Vietnam.
