Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine sends urgent document regarding the council of professors

The Principal of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine has just sent an urgent document to the State Council of Professors and the Ministry of Education and Training regarding the establishment of a basic Council of Professors in 2025. The document details that a candidate met the standards of the basic Council of Professors but was eliminated.

The Rector of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine has just sent an urgent document to the State Council of Professors and the Ministry of Education and Training regarding the establishment of a grassroots Council of Professors in 2025.

Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Nguyen Thanh Hiep, Principal of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, signed an urgent document on April 29 to the State Council of Professors and the Ministry of Education and Training regarding the establishment of a grassroots Council of Professors in 2025.

According to this document, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine issued a notice on March 12 regarding the submission of scientific resumes for consideration of establishing the Basic Professors Council in 2025; Notice on April 16 regarding the submission of scientific resumes for consideration of establishing the Basic Professors Council in 2025 (2nd time). As a result, 20 candidates submitted their scientific resumes.

On April 23, Prof. Dr. Ngo Minh Xuan, Chairman of the Scientific and Training Council of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, chaired an extraordinary meeting on nominating a list of participants in the Council of Professors and Associate Professors in 2025. Accordingly, 13/19 members of the Scientific and Training Council of the school attended.

"At this meeting, instead of applying the form of public exchange of candidate profiles as every year, Professor Ngo Minh Xuan proposed that the council nominate candidates to join the 2025 Faculty Council by secret ballot. As a result, 14/20 candidates were selected," stated the document of the Principal of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine.

Also according to this document, on April 29, the school principal sent an official dispatch requesting the Science and Training Council to publicly disclose candidate information on the electronic information page as prescribed. On the same day, Professor Ngo Minh Xuan submitted a request to withdraw his name from the nomination list of the school's Faculty Council.

The school's document stated that through studying the minutes of the meeting of the school's Science and Training Council on April 23 and related information, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine found that the scientific background of the candidates was not publicly discussed at the meeting as in previous years. The Science and Training Council conducted secret ballots to select candidates without publicizing the voting principles and rules. The meeting minutes were not approved at the meeting. The Science and Training Council did not publicly disclose the list of candidates on the school's website as prescribed.

Notably, the document mentioned the case of TPC T candidate who fully met the criteria of the 2025 Basic Professorial Council candidate but was removed from the list.

With the implementation method of the school's Science and Training Council and the above results, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine sent a document to the State Council of Professors and the Ministry of Education and Training for written instructions and guidance so that the school has a basis for implementation.
